Yields about 5 dozen cookies

Preparation time: 10 minutes and freeze overnight

Baking time: 8 minutes

Ingredients:

• 2 1⁄4 cup all-purpose flour

• 1 teaspoon baking soda

• 1 stick of margarine

• 1⁄2 stick butter flavored Crisco

• 3⁄4 cup granulated sugar

• 3⁄4 cup packed brown sugar

• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

• 2 large eggs

• 2 cups (12 ounces) Nestle Toll House Semi-Sweet morsels

• 1 cup chopped nuts (if omitting nuts – suggested! - add 1 to 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour)

Tools:

• 2 cookie sheets

Directions - Day 1:

  1. In a small mixing bowl combine: flour and baking soda

  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat until creamy:

• Margarine and Crisco sticks

• Granulated and brown sugars

• Vanilla extract

  1. Once creamy, add one egg at a time and mix well

  2. Gradually beat in flour mixture

  3. Stir in morsels and nuts

  4. Freeze uncovered overnight

Directions - Day 2:

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees

  2. Chisel the batter into golf-ball sized chunks onto a cookie sheet

  3. Bake for 4 minutes

  4. Rotate the 2 trays front to back and on a different shelf

  5. Bake another 4 minutes

  6. Remove when slightly undercooked

  7. Move from sheets to wire racks to cool completely
