Famous Chocolate Chip Cookies
Yields about 5 dozen cookies
Preparation time: 10 minutes and freeze overnight
Baking time: 8 minutes
Ingredients:
• 2 1⁄4 cup all-purpose flour
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 1 stick of margarine
• 1⁄2 stick butter flavored Crisco
• 3⁄4 cup granulated sugar
• 3⁄4 cup packed brown sugar
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 2 large eggs
• 2 cups (12 ounces) Nestle Toll House Semi-Sweet morsels
• 1 cup chopped nuts (if omitting nuts – suggested! - add 1 to 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour)
Tools:
• 2 cookie sheets
Directions - Day 1:

In a small mixing bowl combine: flour and baking soda

In a large mixing bowl, beat until creamy:
• Margarine and Crisco sticks
• Granulated and brown sugars
• Vanilla extract

Once creamy, add one egg at a time and mix well

Gradually beat in flour mixture

Stir in morsels and nuts

Freeze uncovered overnight
Directions - Day 2:

Preheat oven to 375 degrees

Chisel the batter into golf-ball sized chunks onto a cookie sheet

Bake for 4 minutes

Rotate the 2 trays front to back and on a different shelf

Bake another 4 minutes

Remove when slightly undercooked

Move from sheets to wire racks to cool completely
